I found this on Reddit, using Google, "It's snows more when it's warmer actually."[sic]

"It's snows more when it's warmer actually."[sic]

I don't think that came up before while searching.  (I could be wrong)

But Google also shows my blogs now.  Or at least one of them.

As noted elsewhere, "It's snows more when it's warmer" is not the same as "It snows more because it's warmer".

Also, "It's" is incorrect. Should read "It snows more"

Here we go again

While it may seem counterintuitive to attribute more snow to the planet warming, Trenberth observed that this only seems to be the case because the general public is insufficiently informed about how climate change works.

"[People need] education that winter warming may mean more snow, not less," Trenberth added.

Duck duck go is honest when you search the internet

For example,

It snows more when it is cold shows up

As does this blog

I find that interesting.

While Google shows neither one

(this may not be true at a later date)

Some good news everyone

Since I made up the specious (and wrong) claim on 12-06-2015

"It snows more because it's warmer"

The idea quickly spread all over.  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually, it did not.  Because it's just not true.

But the idea does appear online, and even in scientific papers.  I'm not kidding about that.

Google search doesn't like to show all the results for that exact phrase.

But duck duck go search engine has no problem putting this blog as the first result.  (Google won't show this blog at all)

Whoops.  OMG.  I just found the phrase used BEFORE I did it!

Not kidding at all.

On a forum called firewoodhoardersclub

Here it is

"Up hereah, yup that's border speak, it snows more when it's warmer than colder."

The snow ratio

The temperature at which snow forms influences the shape and characteristics the snowflakes.  In the simplest possible terms, colder means drier, fluffy snow, which has a greater depth, for the same amount of water.

One inch of water at 30 degrees will make 10 inches (depth) of snow.

One inch of water at -10 degrees will make 50 inches (depth) of snow

The weight will be exactly the same.

As an example, a little over an inch of water (precipitation) when it is very cold (-10 degrees) will result in 5 feet of snow.

At just around freezing it will be around on foot of snow.

The Google search engine doesn't want to show this page, or this blog, when you put in "It snows more when it's warmer"
